A MESSAGE FROM OUR CO-FOUNDERS

As we dive deeper into our mission, the more we realize that opportunities are all around us; for us, it’s about having the courage to go against the grain, the creativity to build something different, the clarity to always work towards our vision and the openness to always stop and reassess.

Welcome to the Kids Collab Power Team. We are a dynamic group of professionals working together to empower and equip children’s biggest role-players to place focus on their children’s health and wellbeing. The combination of our team’s expertise allows us to develop and deliver fun, engaging, age-appropriate and knowledge-based programmes and projects.

OUR DIRECTORS

As a passionate Clinical Exercise Physiologist and having spent time in the field of sports and coaching, Rachel has developed an in-depth understanding of the benefits of physical activity and the power of preventative programmes. Her love for children and knowledge around physical development has always left her seeking ways to create a platform that enhances a child’s overall wellbeing. The focus of her role is placed on the continual improvement and advancement of children, ensuring they reach their personal goals and key developmental milestones.

Having grown up with a love and passion for sport and movement, and having seen the positive effects it can play in an upbringing, Whitney is extremely passionate about helping improve wellbeing in children. Whitney’s background in design often leaves her imagining how programmes and even space can create positive catalysts for change in human behavior. Kids Collab leverages off the combination of creativity and “science-lead”, knowledge-based content in order to not only positively impact physical development and wellness but also create fun, engaging, interactive programmes which inspires positive change among schools, children and families.

Mziwakhe brings a unique blend of expertise to his role as a director, drawing from his rich background as both a professional rugby coach and an educator. With a foundation rooted in education, Mziwakhe’s journey has been guided by a deep-seated love for children and a keen understanding of the significance of movement and development, particularly in the formative years.

As Director, Mziwakhe is a driving force behind Kids Collab, utilising storytelling to raise awareness about the organisation’s impactful work. His natural extroversion and infectious enthusiasm for sport have not only made him a skilled rugby coach at the Lions Rugby Company but also a compelling advocate for the sport’s transformative potential.
Mziwakhe’s dedication to his craft, coupled with his unwavering commitment to youth development and leadership excellence, renders him an invaluable asset to any organisation fortunate enough to have him at the helm.

OUR CONSULTANTS

Lexi Stark is a qualified Occupational Therapist and has keen interest in early childhood intervention, importance of play, trauma-informed practice and seeing the ‘whole child’ in holistic assessment and treatment. She has worked with both paediatric and adult populations in a variety of different healthcare settings including Johannesburg, London and Guinea, West Africa. She is passionate about childhood development and contributes to Kids Collab Fiddle and Fidget Fine Motor content every month to assist in developing little brains and bodies to be the best that they can be.

Movement has always been an integral part of Catherine’s life growing up and combined with her growing passion for working with children, this was the driving force behind her decision to pursue Kinderkinetics. Catherine is a qualified Kinderkineticist practicing in Cape Town South Africa and believes in the importance of early intervention and movement based learning. She contributes to the Kids Collab content to help each child develop their gross motor skills and reach their full potential physically.

Kelly and Francesca are Registered Dietitians in private practice, both treating a wide variety of conditions in their personal capacities. Since becoming mom’s themselves, they have become even more passionate about helping other mom’s to nourish their little one’s bodies. This led to them starting their company, ‘Hello Life.’ Physical activity and nutrition play such an important role in children’s development and milestones which is why Hello Life is very proud to be part of the ‘Kids Collab’ team.

Movement has always been supportive of Bridget’s well-being and development and after discovering yoga and mindfulness in 2017, her life has been greatly enhanced. This led her to complete her kids-yoga teacher training and integrate more mindfulness into her school classroom. This together with her love for learning, connection, play, and creativity, lead to the birth of Little Tree Yogis. Her yoga classes with Kids Collab are more than just a physical practice. Bridget incorporates movement, mindfulness, breathwork, story-telling, and positive affirmations which support and aid the holistic development of the child.

Kaylene is an autism and Special Education Needs specialist and is passionate about inclusivity. Having worked in schools, private and public sectors, she uses her experience to support children, young people, families and professionals in making accommodations that allow children and young people to thrive. Kaylene is currently based in the UK but takes any opportunity she can to work on international projects. She believes barriers to inclusion are often a result of the environment and attitudes of people and fiercely advocates for accommodations that overcome these barriers. She plays an active role in contributing to the Kids Collab content, ensuring that all resources and activities are inclusive and effectively reducing barriers to physical activity.
